Stevie Wonder committed to technology

The musician Stevie Wonder approaches visually handicapped people to technology. In his speech at CES 2009, he openly comments about the need for accessible electronic equipment and that this ‘touch revolution` does not help the handicapped to have access to them. Other statements were:

“We don’t want to hold the technological process”, said he. “What we are saying is that they should think about the interface and create it so that its use is simple… The simpler the interface of a product, the more people it will reach, blind or not.”

We show how easy it is to write in Zeta. Remember that the geometric shape of the letter is associated to the keyboard of the cellular phone. On the Multi-tap you would type 4 times to make the letter S, with Zeta it’s only two digits.

Statement of a handicapped person

Hindi, Out of this World?

People from the occidental world see the Indian language characters as something from another world. But for Zeta it is real. The whole language was developed to HÏNDI, official language of India, where there are more than 70 dialects.

Nowadays the difficulty to send an SMS is huge. You need to write phonetically, send to YAHOO server and receive it back coded in Hindi. Do you believe it? Well, this is how the most populous country in the world exchanges SMS in its language.

A development chief at a large manufacturer proposed the challenge and… Done! The Zeta team created the Hindi Zeta. To know it, just access here the Indian cellular.
